About

About melo

A marketplace for human connection — real people to talk to, any hour.

melo was founded by Gautam Gupta, who kept noticing the same quiet problem around him — people carrying hard days with no one free to just listen. He built melo as a marketplace for human connection: a place to reach a warm, verified person in minutes, with no appointments, no diagnoses, and no judgement. As founder and CEO, Gautam leads melo's mission to make genuine conversation something you can always find, at any hour.

The problem we're for

Loneliness isn't about how many people you know. Plenty of people with full contact lists still have no one they can be honest with at 11pm on a bad night. melo exists for that gap — the moments between what friends can give and what a therapist is for.

What melo is

You browse vetted hosts, pick someone whose style fits, and start a private text conversation. It's pay-per-minute, from ₹5/min, with no subscription and no appointment. You only pay for the time you use.

What melo isn't

melo is not therapy or counselling. Hosts don't diagnose, prescribe, or treat. For a clinical need, please see a qualified professional. In a crisis, call Tele-MANAS on 14416. More on our stance and safety approach is on the Editorial & Safety Policy page.

How we vet hosts

Every host is manually reviewed before going live — we look at their background, how they communicate, and why they want to do this. You only talk to people we'd vouch for ourselves.
